Penstemon ‘Lilac Moon’ is a lovely perennial with lovely bell-shaped lilac flowers and has a superb appearance. By spring, this plant will definitely reach its full potential and bloom. Given the neatness of this plant, it is my personal favorite penstemon.
Penstemons prefer full sun in the morning and light shade in the afternoon in warmer areas, this allows them to bloom from spring to autumn.
Keep some old foliage on the plant after pruning at the conclusion of the flowering season in late autumn to protect young branches during the winter.
All that is required is a drink twice a week and some all-purpose fertiliser once a year in early spring and penstemons will thrive.
