Bearded Iris are a popular garden Iris that grows in full sun. These plants have flat sword shaped foliage and classy graceful flowers that establish well in properly drained soil and elevated flower beds. They’re able to live in most environments but wish for cold winters to flower well. Bearded Irises are hardy perennials cultivated from rhizomes that get overcrowded over time and need dividing. Peak flowering starts early September then in autumn rebloomers can flower again. Bearded iris are identified by the height of their flower spikes and the time of flowering. We mail Bearded Iris with bare roots from December to end of March after this the soil is too cold for Bearded Iris rhizomes to make new roots in the ground in time for winter.
